Mentoring Program for Women in the Energy Sector 2021

In order to support women's careers in the energy transition and advance the role of women as agents of change, the Global Women's Energy Transition Network (GWNET), in partnership with the Moroccan-German Energy Partnership Secretariat, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) are launching the second edition of the GWNET Mentoring Program.

The new mentoring program "Energising Women to Advance the Energy Transition" aims to advance the careers of mid-career women working in the field of energy transition in the selected countries of the German bilateral energy partnerships.

 

The application criteria for participants are as follows:

  • Be a national of one of the following regions/countries:

               MENA: Tunisia, Algeria, Jordan, Morocco, Saudi Arabia;

               LAC: Brazil, Chile, Mexico;

               Ethiopia, South Africa, China and India.

  • Must be a woman working in the field of renewable energy or energy efficiency;
  • Must be in a middle management position (5-10 years of relevant work experience).

 

The closing date for applications is Sunday, March 28, 2021.

Timeline:

  • March: Launch of applications
  • April: Selection of 8 to 10 people per country and connection with mentors
  • May: Launch webinars
  • June 2021 - May 2022: Two-way interaction
  • September 2021: Online mentoring and knowledge transfer formats
