Shaping the International Energy Transition Debate at COP-22

PAREMA was very engaged in the energy policy debate at COP-22 in Marrakesh in November 2016.

  • PAREMA supported the organisation of the key energy event at the Moroccan pavillon, which saw the Moroccan Minister of Energy Hafid Elalamy and Energy State Secretary Rainer Baake underline the significance of international cooperation to attain the objective of decarbonising the energy systems, in front of an international audience of about 300 participants.
  • A luncheon-B2G roundtable gathered around 20 industry and institutional players from both countries around Directors from BMWi and MASEN
  • An international experts panel and an exhibition on energy modeling were organized at GIZ energy stand in the public zone.
  • PAREMA´s steering committee directed PAREMA´s work post COP22: activities on energy regulation, renewable grid integration, energy efficiency, deepening of the work on energy modeling and the creation of a Moroccan Centre on energy modeling and advice were the focus of the discussions.
